More on Bailey Funds' Principal and Speaker:  Tess Lawson

As a seasoned, high energy business woman and entrepreneur, Tess has owned and operated The Bailey Capital Fund (Bailey Business Funds) an equipment leasing & private equity consulting firm since 1997. Under the Business Business Funds banner, Tess has been aligning expertise in the Investment Banking industry for the development of investment funds for the Canadian exempt marketplace since 2005

Tess' expertise and success is as a result of her excellence in communication and relationship building skills, business and financial project assessment and presentation to equity investment groups and individuals as well as private and public debt financing /leasing portfolios. Since 1996 Tess has raised over $30M for clients and has worked with many of the major banks, credit unions and local and national private financing firms across Canada. http://www.baileycapitalfund.com/references/ProjectsReferences.php

Tess began her first personally owned investment fund in 1999; and developed her first Exempt Market Private Investment Fund with the leadership of Blake Cassels & Graydon's lead legal tax team Kathleen Keilty http://blakes.com/english/people/lawyers2.asp?LAS=KTK  and Robert Kopstein http://www.blakes.com/english/people/lawyers2.asp?LAS=RBK a Private Mutual Fund Trust: Offering Memorandum for “Green “Equipment Leasing and LEED Real Estate” which launched in the spring of 2008 .
During this time Tess was chosen as one of 14 women in the Odlum Brown and Price Waterhouse Cooper's sponsored January – June 2010 “e-Series” Class of Women Entrepreneurs http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=6203935&id=132004480379
for her work with a high growth, leveraged business. This program gained Tess the experience and knowledge for coordinating panels of business leaders in the community of Vancouver for mentorship roles to emerging entrepreneurs in all facets of industry ranging from Medical Innovation, to globally successful children’s wear corporations.

May 2010, Tess promoted her first green Fund across Canada, and won a 'Investment Pitch Contest’ at The 2010 Globe Conference in Vancouver BC which earned her a presentation opportunity to The Dragon’s Den http://www.cbc.ca/dragonsden which resulted in securing an endorsement from Mr. Kevin O’Leary and an introduction to his CEO of the O’Leary Funds on Bay Street in Toronto, Mr. Connor O’Brien. http://blog.baileyfunds.com

September 2011, Tess developed a second Exempt Market Private Investment Fund, this time for a 100% green equipment leasing portfolio; Tess brought together long time equipment leasing business mentors to form the Viridian Asset Fund Inc., http://viridianleasing.com/ a 100% sustainable-content fund. Viridian is an income-producing investment product through the financing of clean energy technology equipment in Canada. This fund is currently under an independent capitalization team appointed by Claude Lemay and his partner, Ray Salama of Atticus Financial.

In 2006, Tess' dedication to investment and asset security saw her awarded a National Research Council (NRC) Grant to develop an expert system online (AI). http://www.trustdogs.com  While this project gained the interest of Salesforce.com to have the concept built into an App for distribution on Salesforces' portal, Tess stayed loyal to one project at a time and chose to remain as an Exempt Market Investment Product manufacturer.

Tess' past community and business charity efforts included involvement as a board member for the Membership Review Committee for The Better Business Bureau of the Lower Mainland of Vancouver since 2007, http://vi.bbb.org/investigation-services/as well as successfully being nominated and elected for the Board of Directors of The Vancouver Rotary Club: 2011-2013 fiscal years.http://www.rotaryvan.org/
